Tripartitie Aboriginal Doula Initiative
The art of birth, women supporting women in childbirth.
An Aboriginal doula is a specially trained birth companion who provides emotional, physical and spiritual support for Aboriginal women and families during pregnancy and labour and after birth.  Building on the role of the Traditional Aunty, the Aboriginal doula honours the traditional practices and beliefs as well as language and cultural barriers to support the needs of the women and family.
